Technical Evangelist

About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Evangelist to join our team at Capsule8. Working with our VP of Product Strategy, you will join a team that is passionate about providing our users with the best possible protection for their Linux production environments. In this role, you will delve into the technology that Capsule8 protects, developing content and presentations to help users feel more confident in securing their modern infrastructure.

What You Will Do

  • Write short- and long-form content and speak at industry events to support Capsule8’s efforts to teach our community about topics related to Linux, microservices, and cloud security.
  • Create customer-facing documentation and training materials for Capsule8’s enterprise product as well as for the open source sensor to foster community growth.
  • Empathize with Capsule8’s community of security and operations engineers and develop education to empower security to feel more confident with ops topics and ops more confident with security topics.
  • Partner with product and sales engineering teams to build compelling, instructive demos and walkthroughs.
  • Collaborate with our integrations team to recommend new integrations for Capsule8 based on your thoughtful understanding of our community’s workflows.

Desired Background

  • You have samples you can share of written or spoken content you have created on technical topics.
  • You are familiar with Linux or modern infrastructure, including containers, orchestration tools, IaaS, and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • You love learning new things and are genuinely excited to share newfound knowledge with others.
  • You can communicate tricky, complex topics in accessible and engaging terms to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Bonus

  • You are comfortable reading and writing in at least 2 programming languages (Go, bash, Python, Ruby preferred).
  • You dislike appeals to fear, uncertainty, and doubt within information security messaging.
  • You are already active in local information security or DevOps communities.
  • You enjoy presenting information in creative, visual ways.
